The National Council on Disability Affairs in partnership with Ambassadors of Light, Inc. the Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Vocational and Rehabilitation Center, Department of Education, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, SM Programs Committee on Disability Affairs, SM Supermalls, Mowelfund Institute, Freedom Technology Wheelchair Foundation, Inc., and TANDEM Music Licensing Consultants Corporation, present the “”NCDA Philippine Wataboshi Music Festival for Persons with Disabilities.”

Venue : The Skydome, SM North EDSA, Quezon City
The “NCDA Philippine Wataboshi Music Festival for Persons with Disabilities” is the culminating activity that will cap the 33rd National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week celebration on July 17-23, 2011. The unique aspect of this festival is that all the songs are written by persons with disabilities. The NCDA Philippine Wataboshi Music Festival for PWDs hopes to attain the following objectives:
- To be able to select through the competition musically talented persons with disabilities that will be a part of NCDA Music Advocacy program.
- To develop persons with disabilities to become musical composers and eventually enjoy the recognition as National Filipino composer.
- To provide the opportunity for PWDs to contribute in the promotion and development of Filipino music in the country.
The song writing contest is open to all amateur and professional Filipino composers with disabilities nationwide. Only one entry is allowed per person and the song shall be within the theme of the 2011 NDPR Week. It should not use obscene or derogatory language or any words that are inimical to the privacy or against the personality of any third party or a threat to the security of the State. The lyrics of the song shall as much as possible promotes the positive things around us or shall convey the message of the true, the good, and the beautiful in the Filipinos as a Nation. All song entries must be original compositions and can be in English or Filipino. It must be submitted to the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) with office address at Isidora Street, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on or before June 17, 2011 until 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon either by registered mail, courier, and hand delivery or through email in an MP3 Format with attachment of the lyrics. Prizes will be : First Place – P 10,000.00, Second Place – P 5,000.00, Third Place – P 3,000.00 with consolation prizes. These amount will be increase subject to availability of sponsors
