The first rollout of Luzon Cluster participants of the Trainers’ Training Manual on Gender and Equality Focusing on Women with Disabilities was held in Kimberly Hotel, Tagaytay City on September 5 and 6, 2020. This was participated by PDAO officers, Disability Advocates and Gad Focal Persons. NCDA Executive Director Joniro “Don” Fradejas delivered his welcome speech to the guests and participants, while Concurrent OIC Deputy Executive Director, Dandy C. Victa gave the overview of the training.

Guided by the Philippine Development Plan (PDP 2017-2022) geared towards Ambisyon Natin 2040, the National Council on Disability Affairs, the lead agency tasked to steer the course of program development for persons with disabilities and the delivery of services to the sector is taking its initiative to support and assist the Philippines government in realizing its commitment to gender-responsive society. It also takes into account the country’s international obligations, such as the 22030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal No. 5: “Achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
