In line with the Government’s thrust to promote the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) among duty bearers and stakeholders, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) Central Office and its Regional Office in Bicol, jointly conduct the said forum on May 14, 2015 at the Oriental Hotel, Taysan Hill, Sto. Niño Village, Legaspi City.
The seminar aims to teach frontliners in the tourism/business industry on how to deal and handle customers with disabilities, such as those with orthopedic, hearing and visual impairments, among others. The frontliners include front desk officers/personnel in hotels, restaurants and similar establishments; transport operators and other public conveyance utilities; and tour guides, among others. Other participants include officials of the government who spearhead the implementation of the tourism industry in the region, representatives of disabled organizations and the media.
During the seminar, experts in handling persons with disabilities will deliver lectures and demonstration on basic courtesies, handling their needs, and such other necessities required by their customers.
